Education:

Ph. D. 1986, University of Connecticut
M. S. 1983, University of Connecticut
B. S. 1979, Pennsylvania State University

Courses taught:

SAPL 024/PLSC 124, Turfgrass Management
PLSC 224, Turfgrass Physiology and Ecology
PLSC 284, Golf Course Design (turfgrass and construction sections)
PLSC 350, Design and Analysis of Agricultural Experiments

Current Projects:

My research involves the development and evaluation of best management practices for turfgrass systems with emphasis on soil and water quality. Current studies include the use of anion exchange membranes and handheld reflectance meters to monitor available nitrogen in the rootzone.

I am also conducting research involving athletic and sports turf. Current studies include the characterization of baseball and softball skinned infield soil properties and the resultant ball reaction off the playing surface.
