Formula Fund Application Process

New and revised project proposals can be submitted October through March 1for a project start date of October 1, 2011.  However, the submission deadline is March 1 for a project start date of October 1, 2011.  Click here for Application Checklist for Faculty and Staff.

 

Hatch/Multistate/McIntire-Stennis/Animal Health Application Process

  1. Complete a Proposal Cover Page and project proposal.
  2. Prepare a list of the names and contact information of three reviewers that have agreed to perform the review for your proposal.  Reviewers are usually chosen from the same department and may include the department head.  SAES will contact the reviewers and be responsible for securing the Peer Review Forms from the reviewers and returning them to the PI for consideration.  Investigators must submit a written response to each of the points in the reviews. 
  3. Submit signed Cover Page, Project Proposal, and the names and contact information of three reviewers to Lynn Grabowski, SAES, Unit 4010, by March 1 for a project start date of October 1. 
  4. An internal review of the proposals follows.
  5. Approved Proposals will be announced in May.   
  6. PI completes CRIS forms for internally approved proposals. AD-416, AD-417 and CSREES 2008 Assurance.  CRIS forms due to USDA by July 1.
  7. USDA approval process July-October.
  8. Based on available funding, FRS accounts and budgets are established upon USDA approval for a project start date of October 1.

 

Multistate Application Process

  1. Prepare a brief (3 page limit) addendum to a new or current Multistate Project.  Submit to Lynn Grabowski, SAES, Unit 4010.   Multistate Instructions.
  2. Prepare an Appendix E for each participant.  See Multistate Instructions for the  NIMSS Appendix E procedures.  http://nimss.umd.edu/
  3. Obtain internal project approval.
  4. Complete CRIS forms for approved proposal.  AD-416, AD-417 and CSREES 2008 Assurance.  CRIS forms due to USDA by July 1.
